The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on January 23, 2026, declared the drug/item tested as "Not of Standard Quality”.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has been reported that a batch of Bacillus clausii spores oral suspension (450 million/5 ml) procured through an authorized PMBI distributor has been declared “Not of Standard Quality (NSQ)” by the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory (CDTL), Mumbai.
• The sample, manufactured by M/s Zee Laboratories Ltd., failed to conform to the specified standards, particularly with respect to assay and description, as per the laboratory report.
• In view of this, all concerned user units have been directed to immediately stop the use of the reported batch, initiate action as per the MoU, and maintain records of actions taken at their respective units.
