EHS ComplianceThe Department of Public Relations, Govt. of Chandigarh on January 24, 2026, notified regarding the Zero-Day Automated CTE/CTO Approvals for Green Category Industries.

The following has been stated:

• In a major Ease of Doing Business reform, the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC) has launched a fully automated system for granting Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO) to Green Category industries through its OCMMS portal.

• The initiative reduces approval timelines from 15 days to instant (zero-day) issuance, benefiting nearly 40% of Chandigarh’s industries. By eliminating manual scrutiny for Green Category units, the reform significantly cuts regulatory delays and compliance burden.

• The move builds on CPCC’s ongoing reforms, including auto-renewal of CTOs, exemption for White Category industries, reduced inspection frequency, exclusion of DG sets up to 1000 KVA from consent requirements, and substantially shortened processing timelines—setting a new benchmark in regulatory efficiency and public convenience.
