Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on January 27, 2026, issued an amendment to the older notification no. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated August 03, 2001, related to the fixation of the tariff value of crude palm oil.

The following has been amended, namely: -

• The amendment revises the tariff value tables for specified goods, including crude palm oil, palm oil products, soybean oil, gold, silver, brass scrap and areca nuts. 

• While the tables have been formally substituted, the tariff values remain unchanged for all listed items, including crude palm oil at USD 1075 per metric tonne. 

• The notification comes into force from January 28, 2026, and continues the existing tariff valuation framework without any revision in rates.
