The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) on January 07, 2026, modified Guidelines for Implementation of Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme (SBFAS).
Keeping in view of recommendation of DG Shipping and guidelines for ongoing Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Policy (SBFAP), the Competent Authority has decided to include 'Chemical Tankers' under Category-1 of schedule-ll of issued Guidelines for lmplementation of Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme (SBFAS) dated December 26, 2025. The nomenclature of Category 1 is changed from 'Gas & Oil Carriers' to 'Gas, Oil & Chemical Carriers'.
