Industry Specific ComplianceThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on January 30, 2026, issued the Guidelines for Promoting Inter-Generational Bonding in Schools.

The following has been stated:

• Under the guidance of the National Council for Senior Citizens and with reference to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment’s recommendations, all CBSE-affiliated schools are advised to involve senior citizens (especially students’ grandparents) in school activities during important national and commemorative occasions such as Independence Day, Bal Diwas, and International Day of Older Persons. 

• Schools may also organize inclusive programmes like “walkathons” where students and their grandparents participate together to foster mutual respect, understanding, emotional connection, and well-being of senior citizens. 

• These activities should be conducted respectfully with necessary prior notifications and record-keeping of the initiatives undertaken.
