The Government of Uttar Pradesh, on December 30, 2025, issued the Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2025, to further amend the Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1959.
The following has been stated, namely:-
• In sub-section (1) of Section 305, for the words "two years from the date of each such permission or renewal", the words shall be substituted with:- "fifteen years from the date of such permission or renewal, as may be prescribed by rules ".
• The Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025 is hereby repealed.
• Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the provisions of the principal Act as amended by the Ordinance referred to in sub-section (1) shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the principal Act as amended by this Act as if the provisions of this Act were in force at all material times.
