The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), on February 01, 2026, notified regarding the rescission of Certain Customs Notifications in Public Interest.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Specific notifications issued by the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) are withdrawn, except for actions already taken or omitted before the rescission.
• The first notification rescinded is Notification No. 11/2004-Customs, dated 8 January 2004, as published in the Gazette of India.
• The second notification rescinded is Notification No. 27/2016-Customs, dated 31 March 2016, as published in the Gazette of India.
• The rescission does not affect anything done or not done under these notifications prior to their withdrawal.
