Labour ComplianceThe Labour and Skills (E) Department, Government of Kerala, on January 28, 2026, notified regarding the revision of the minimum wage for workers working in the photography and videography sector. 

The following has been stated namely: -

• Dearness Allowance:- In addition to the basic rates of wages, the employees shall be eligible for Variable Dearness Allowance at the rate of ₹ 60 for every increase of one point above 165 points (2011-12=100) of the Consumer Price Index Numbers published by the Department of Economics and Statistics for the District Headquarters concerned.

• For the calculation of daily wages for categories in respect of which monthly wages have been fixed in the notification, the basic monthly wage, including Dearness Allowance, shall be divided by 26. 

• In case of employees employed under an employer who are at present getting higher wages and benefits than the minimum wages as per this notification, then they shall continue to enjoy such higher rates.
