The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on February 02, 2026, amended an older notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated August 03, 2001, related to revised Tariff Value.
The following has been stated: -
•CBIC has amended Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962 by substituting TABLE-1, TABLE-2, and TABLE-3.
•The amendment notifies tariff values for edible oils (palm oil, palmolein, soya bean oil), brass scrap, and areca nuts, with no change in existing values.
•It also prescribes tariff values for gold and silver (in specified forms) linked to concessional entries under Notification No. 45/2025-Customs.
•The revised tables standardize assessable values for customs valuation purposes across notified commodities.
This notification shall come into force with effect from February 02, 2026.
