The University Grants Commission (UGC) on February 02, 2026, issued a notification regarding the extension of the timeline for the circulation of UGC Guidelines on Uniform Policy on Mental Health & Well-Being for Higher Educational Institutions.
The following has been stated: -
•The Commission has extended the deadline for submitting comments/suggestions on the UGC Guidelines on a Uniform Policy for Mental Health & Well-Being in Higher Educational Institutions up to February 28, 2026.
•Institutions are requested to widely disseminate this information.
•Colleges under their ambit should circulate the guidelines among students, faculty, and staff to gather feedback.
•Stakeholders are encouraged to submit their suggestions within the extended timeline to support strengthening mental health frameworks in higher education.
