The Government of Chhattisgarh, on January 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding the Liquor Duty.
The following has been stated: -
•The State Government has imposed 50% Countervailing/Excise Duty on Country Liquor and all categories of Foreign Liquor (Spirit, Wine, RTD, and Malt), calculated on the landing price excluding duty.
•The duty must be paid in advance before supplying liquor to CSCBCL warehouses or godowns.
•The earlier notification dated July 11, 2024, stands repealed.
•This notification shall come into force on April 01, 2026.
