Industry Specific ComplianceThe Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on January 24, 2026, issued a notification regarding compliance with CEA "Standard Specifications and Technical Parameters for Transformers and Reactors (66 kV & above voltage class)".

The following has been stated: -

•CEA issued Standard Specifications & Technical Parameters for Transformers and Reactors (66 kV & above) in April 2021, later made mandatory under the 2022 Regulations.

•The standards aim to ensure uniform specifications, better design practices, quality control, and faster procurement.

•Utilities have been specifying non-standard transformer ratings in tenders, violating CEA Technical Standards Regulations, 2022.

•All utilities are advised to strictly follow prescribed standardized ratings and specifications while issuing transformer procurement tenders.
