The Government of Tripura, on February 03, 2026, issued a notification regarding the registration of importers of pre-packed commodities under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011.
The following has been stated: -
•This notification is issued under compliance reduction & deregulation (Phase-II) prescribing fees, procedures, guidelines, and documents; Annexure-A provides detailed reforms and requirements.
•Applications must be submitted online through the SWAAGAT Portal following the standardized procedure only.
•No extra documents beyond the notification are allowed; it supersedes all earlier related notifications.
