Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (MoCF) on January 30, 2026, issued the notification regarding Retail Prices of Specified Pharmaceutical Formulations

The following has been stated namely: -

• The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed retail prices under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order (DPCO), 2013 for certain new drug formulations, in exercise of powers conferred by the Government of India.

• Retail prices (exclusive of GST) have been fixed for 36 pharmaceutical formulations, covering tablets, capsules, injections, gels, syrups, ophthalmic solutions, combi-kits, and infusion bags, with specified strengths, units, manufacturers, and marketing companies.

• Manufacturers must sell the listed formulations at or below the notified retail prices, and may add GST only if it has been actually paid or is payable to the Government.

• Manufacturers are required to issue and submit price lists (Form-V) through IPDMS to NPPA, State Drug Controllers, and dealers, and retailers must prominently display price lists at their business premises.

• Any overcharging will attract recovery of excess amount with interest under DPCO, 2013 and the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. 

• Earlier price orders for the same formulations and manufacturers stand superseded by this notification.
