The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on January 23, 2026, notified regarding the extension of the timeline for filing the returns under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Second Amendment Rules, 2023 (EPR for Used Oil).
The Ministry, with reference to the CPCB’s letter dated January 05, 2026, noted that stakeholders under the Used Oil Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework had sought an extension of the timeline for filing returns for FY 2024–25 beyond December 31, 2025.
Based on CPCB’s request and after examination of the matter, the Ministry, in exercise of powers under sub-rule (5) of Rule 30 of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2024, has extended the timeline for filing returns by registered entities for FY 2024–25 by three months, up to March 31, 2026.
