The Government of Assam, on January 06, 2026, issued the Draft Procedure, Mode of Serving Processes and Process-Fees (Amendment) Rules, 2025 under Chapter-VII of Assam Land Revenue Regulation Rules further to amend the Assam Land Revenue Regulation Rules, 1886.
The following has been stated: -
•In the principal Rules, after rule 183, the following new rule shall be inserted, namely: Conduct and recording of proceedings through digital or electronic means.
•Revenue Courts and Officers may conduct proceedings, hearings, and case disposal through digital or electronic means, including virtual appearances authenticated by electronic signatures. Summonses, notices, and orders can be issued and served electronically, and such digital processes will have full legal validity equivalent to physical proceedings.
Any objections or suggestions may be submitted within 30 days.
