Labour ComplianceThe Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoL&E) on February 05, 2026, issued a notification regarding key worker protection measures for the implementation of the New Labour Codes.

The following has been stated: -

•The Government implemented four Labour Codes to strengthen wage rights, employment formalisation, and social security coverage. 

•All workers now have statutory minimum wages, timely payment rights, and expanded ESIC/EPFO coverage, including gig and unorganised workers, through a new Social Security Fund. 

•The Codes ensure safer workplaces, annual health check-ups, appointment letters, reskilling support for retrenched workers, and allow women to work night shifts with safeguards. 

•Migrant worker definitions and benefits have also been expanded, including travel allowance and portability of social security benefits.
