The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) on February 06, 2026, issued Directions on Monthly Energy Settlement and Billing for Solar Rooftop (SRT) Prosumers.
APERC has directed all Andhra Pradesh DISCOMs to implement monthly energy settlement and billing for solar rooftop (SRT) prosumers, as mandated under the APERC SRTPV Regulation, 2023 and its 2025 amendment. According to Clauses 16.1 and 16.5, energy exported to the grid must be settled every month and payments for excess energy must be transferred electronically to consumers.
The Commission issued this direction after receiving complaints during Retail Supply Tariff hearings for FY 2026–27 that DISCOMs were not conducting monthly settlements and were delaying payments for surplus solar power. To address this, APERC has ordered immediate compliance with the regulations.
DISCOMs must now strictly carry out monthly billing and ensure timely electronic payments for exported energy. Consumers facing issues with settlement or payment are advised to approach their respective DISCOMs for grievance redressal.
