The Directorate of Forests, West Bengal on December 24, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Guidelines on Online and Offline Issuance of Transit Pass for Timber and Related Forest Produce
The following has been stated namely: -
• For round timber and sawn timber within West Bengal, both NTPS (online) and manual (offline) Transit Pass systems will remain available up to March 31, 2026.
• For transport of round timber and sawn timber outside West Bengal, NTPS-generated Transit Pass and NOC (where applicable) are mandatory.
• The manual Transit Pass system will continue for
o farmers and small traders using non-motorized means, and
o movement of foreign-origin timber, NTFPs, and boulders/sand/RBM, until further orders.
