The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on February 06, 2026, issued an amendment to the older notification no. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated August 03, 2001, fixing Tariff Values for Crude Palm Oil, RBD Palm Oil and RBD Palmolein.
The following has been stated:
• The CBIC has amended the said notification by substituting Table-1, Table-2, and Table-3 relating to tariff values for certain imported goods. The amendment essentially retains the existing tariff values (no change) for the specified commodities.
• Under Table-1, tariff values (in US$ per metric tonne) continue for crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, other palm oil, crude palmolein, RBD palmolein, other palmolein, crude soybean oil, and brass scrap.
• Under Table-2, tariff values remain unchanged for gold and silver in specified forms, including gold bars (other than tola bars), gold coins of prescribed purity, gold findings, and silver (excluding jewellery and foreign currency coins), with values prescribed per 10 grams (gold) and per kilogram (silver).
• Under Table-3, the tariff value for areca nuts also remains unchanged.
• The amendment comes into effect from February 07, 2026.
