Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Ministry of Finance (MoF) on February 08, 2026, seeks stakeholders' inputs on proposed Income-tax Rules and Forms related to the Income Tax Act, 2025.

The following has been stated:

• The Income-tax Act, 2025, received Presidential assent in August 2025 and will come into force from April 01, 2026. Before the final notification of the Income-tax Rules and Forms, the proposed Rules and Forms have been uploaded on the official website (www.incometaxindia.gov.in) to enable wider stakeholder consultation. These drafts have been prepared after broad-based consultations and aligned with the provisions of the new Act.

• The CBDT has invited suggestions from stakeholders under four key areas: simplification of language, reduction of litigation, reduction of compliance burden, and identification of redundant or obsolete rules and forms.

• For this purpose, an online utility has been launched on the e-filing portal (accessible from February 04, 2026), where stakeholders can submit inputs after OTP-based validation.
