The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), on February 09, 2026, issued a notification regarding Fire Safety Compliance for all ESI establishments-Review of Actions & Preventive Measures.
The following has been stated: -
•MoHFW directions on fire and life safety compliance reports remain pending from many ESIC Regions/Institutions, and all concerned must submit reports within 15 days or face administrative action.
•ESIC hospitals are critical facilities, making strict fire and life safety compliance mandatory to protect patients, staff, and infrastructure.
•Detailed role-wise responsibilities are reiterated for Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, and Hospital Administration, including inspections, maintenance, training, and emergency preparedness.
•Mandatory adherence to statutory safety norms and additional summer-season precautions, like electrical checks and testing of fire protection systems are required.
