The Government of Kerala, on February 05, 2026, notified the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Rules, 2025, further to amend the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1961.
The following has been stated: -
•The Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1961, have been amended by substituting the fee table under Rule 2G (1).
•The amendment revises registration/renewal fees based on the number of employees, ranging from ₹70 (nil employees) to ₹5,250 (above 100 employees).
•Updated fee slabs now apply according to different workforce size categories for registration certificates.
They shall come into force at once.
