Labour ComplianceThe Government of Punjab, on January 13, 2026, issued the Handbook on Punjab Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board.

The following has been stated: -

•The Punjab BOCW Welfare Board works to register construction workers, implement welfare schemes, and provide financial assistance funded mainly through cess and worker contributions.

•In 2025–26, worker-centric reforms increased benefit disbursement from ₹87 crore to ₹120 crore and reduced scheme processing time from about 6 months to 2.5 months.

•Key changes included removing redundant documents, simplifying forms, reducing approval levels, introducing timeline-based processing, and standardising objections.

•Technology integration and policy reforms improved service delivery, resolved legacy cases, and expanded health and education benefits through digital coordination.
