The Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoL&E) on February 12, 2026, issued a notification regarding the EPFO Reforms, Digital Initiatives, and the expansion of Coverage and Services.
The following has been stated: -
•EPFO introduced unified registration via Shram Suvidha Portal, auto-registration through MCA, self-UAN generation, and Aadhaar Face Authentication to improve enrolment and ease of access.
•Coverage expanded significantly after the EPF Act implementation in J&K and Ladakh, and digital onboarding initiatives.
•New establishments increased by 251% and contributing members by 150% between 2019-20 and 2023-24.
•CPPS and Project EPFO 3.0 enable centralized pension payments, faster automated claims (under 3 days), digital services, and improved grievance monitoring.
