RBI issued Draft Amendment Directions for ‘Conduct of Regulated Entities in Recovery of Loans and Engagement of Recovery Agents’

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on February 12, 2026, issued Draft Amendment Directions for ‘Conduct of Regulated Entities in Recovery of Loans and Engagement of Recovery Agents’.

The following has been stated: -

•RBI has issued draft Amendment Directions (2026) to introduce comprehensive rules on loan recovery conduct and engagement of recovery agents across all regulated entities.

•The guidelines cover fair borrower treatment, conduct of staff/agents, due diligence, training, and code of conduct.

•These drafts follow the Developmental & Regulatory Policy announcement dated February 06, 2026.

•Public and stakeholder feedback can be submitted via Connect 2 Regulate or email until March 06, 2026.
