The Government of Karnataka, on February 11, 2026, issued the Draft Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of Beer) (Amendment) Rules, 2026, to further amend the Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of Beer) Rules, 1976.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The objections or suggestions may be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Finance Department, Vidhana Soudha, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru -560001 and or before 18, 2026.
• In rule 3, for the words “Deputy Commissioner”, the words shall be substituted with:- “Deputy Commissioner of Excise”.
• In rule 4, for the words “Deputy Commissioner”, the words shall be substituted with:- “Deputy Commissioner of Excise”.
