CBIC Revision of Tariff Values for Specified Goods

Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on February 13, 2026, issued Notification No. 20/2026-Customs (N.T.) [S.O. 787(E)] under section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962, amending Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) dated August 3, 2001. The amendment substitutes TABLE-1, TABLE-2, and TABLE-3 relating to tariff values for specified imported goods.

Under the revised tables, updated tariff values (in US Dollars) have been notified for items including crude and refined palm oil, palmolein, crude soybean oil, and brass scrap (per metric tonne). Tariff values have also been specified for gold (USD 1624 per 10 grams), silver (USD 2707 per kilogram), and areca nuts (USD 7020 per metric tonne), along with explanatory provisions relating to eligible forms and exclusions.

The revised tariff values shall come into force with effect from February 14, 2026, and will apply for assessment of customs duty on the specified goods as per the substituted tables.
