Commercial Compliance The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD) on February 13, 2026, issued the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2026, further to amend the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011.

This shall come into force on July 01, 2026.

In rule 6, after sub-rule (10), the following sub-rule shall be inserted, namely:-

“(10A) Every e-commerce entity selling imported products shall provide the product listings of such imported products in a searchable and sortable filter specifying the country of origin.”
