The Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) on February 05, 2026, issued the notification regarding the introduction of the Online Property Tax Payment Facility
The following has been stated namely: -
• Shillong Municipal Board has introduced an online property tax payment system to improve efficiency and help taxpayers avoid long queues.
• Taxpayers can pay through the official website (http://smb.gov.in) or by scanning the QR code printed on tax bills; payments are accepted via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, and UPI.
• Card payments may attract applicable charges, while UPI payments have no additional charges, all taxpayers are encouraged to use the online system for convenience.
