Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Cooperation (MoC) on February 11, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Implementation and Benefits of the World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan in the Cooperative Sector

The following has been stated namely: -

• Balaghat district was selected under the World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan in Cooperative Sector (WLGSP), where a 500 MT godown was constructed at a PACS in Parswada.

• The plan is being implemented at PACS/ cooperative society level by converging existing GoI schemes such as Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure (AMI), SMAM, and PMFME.

• Under AIF, interest subvention and extended loan repayment (2+8 years) are provided, while AMI revisions include reduced margin money (20% to 10%), higher construction cost norms, and increased subsidy for PACS (up to 33.33%).

• PACS are eligible for an extra one-third subsidy for ancillary infrastructure like internal roads, weighbridges, and boundary walls.

• Decentralized village-level storage reduces post-harvest losses, lowers transportation costs, enables pledge financing, prevents distress sales, improves price realization, and strengthens overall supply-chain efficiency and food security.
