The Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, on February 11, 2026, issued an amendment to the Tamil Nadu Regularisation of Unapproved Layouts and Plots Rules, 2017.
The following has been stated namely: -
• In rule 24, in the TABLE, in column 6, for the entries "upto 29th February 2024" the entry shall be substituted with:- "onwards"
• For rule 25, the following rule may be substituted, namely:- "25. Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, in respect of cases not covered under rule 24, any layout promoter eligible to file an application for regularisation under rule 3, may apply for regularisation of the unapproved layout on-line in Form-1 to the Competent Authority, on or before 30th June 2026 and any individual plot owner eligible to file an application for regularisation under rule 3, may apply for regularisation of the unapproved plot on-line in Form-I to the Competent Authority, at any time. If any such application is received, the procedure laid down under rule 24 shall be followed.".
