Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) on February 15, 2026, issued a notification regarding the launch of the CBDC-based Public Distribution System in Gandhinagar.

The following has been stated: -

•A Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)-based Public Distribution System in Gandhinagar, aiming to ensure transparent, corruption-free food grain distribution through Digital India initiatives.

•The system, inspired by Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’, will provide 5 kg of free food grains per person and use ‘Annapurna’ machines for fast, accurate distribution.

•The initiative is set to expand nationwide over the next 3–4 years, strengthening food security and safeguarding the rights of the poor through technology-driven reforms.
