The Labour, Factories, Boilers & Insurance Medical Services Department, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh on February 14, 2026, issued the amendments to the Online Inspection System and Exemptions for IT & ITES Establishments.
The following has been amended, namely:
• The amendment revises the risk categorisation of establishments under the Online Inspection System, classifying units as High Risk (1–30 workers), Medium Risk (31–100 workers), and Low Risk (above 100 workers), and specifically includes all IT and ITES establishments in the Low-Risk category irrespective of employee strength.
• Further, the exemption granted to IT and ITES establishments from certain provisions of the Act has been extended for another five years. Additional conditions have been inserted:
o employees aggrieved by termination may seek a remedy under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020;
o complaints regarding labour law violations shall be routed through the Jurisdictional Joint Commissioner of Labour and acted upon only with specific instructions of the Chief Inspector;
o inspections shall follow prescribed guidelines under the “Inspector-cum-Facilitator” framework; and
o inspection reports shall be submitted to the Chief Inspector and Commissioner of Labour for appropriate action under applicable labour laws and labour codes.
