Commercial ComplianceThe Finance Department, Govt. of Rajasthan on February 11, 2026, notified regarding the Reduction of Stamp Duty on Assignment Deeds.

The notification reduces the stamp duty payable on assignment deeds executed by persons eligible to obtain lease deeds from local authorities under the Rajasthan Urban Areas (Permission for Use of Agricultural Land for Non-Agricultural Purposes and Allotment) Rules, 2012, where such persons assign or transfer their right to obtain a lease deed to another person.

Under the revised structure, stamp duty on assignment deeds relating to plotted projects approved under the prevailing Township Policy will be charged at a fixed rate of ₹500 per instrument. For assignment deeds relating to Group Housing Projects, stamp duty will be charged at 5% of the market value of the property.

Similarly, in cases where a single patta is issued by Urban Local Bodies under the Township Policy or otherwise, the assignment deed will also attract stamp duty at 5% of the market value. The notification aims to rationalise stamp duty and promote ease of property transactions under township and housing projects in the State.
