The Rampur Municipal Council on June 27, 2025, issued the Rampur Municipal Council (Registration, Control and Welfare of Pet Dogs Bye-laws, 2025 to ensure humane, responsible, and lawful management of pet dog with in Rampur Municipal Council Limits, to compliance with Animal Birth Control Rules 2023 and other applicable national guidelines.
The Registration of Pet Dogs are as stated:
• Every pet dog over 3 months of age must be registered with the Municipal Council annually Registration shall be compulsory and subject to the following conditions: -
A maximum of two dogs per household is permitted Keeping more than two dogs requires prior written approval MC Rampur.
• The owner must submit the following.
o Completed Application Form (Annexure-A)
o Two recent passport-size photographs of the pet dog.
o Copy of Rabies Vaccination Certificate issued by a government-Veterinary Officer or registered vet under IVC/svc Copy of 7-in-1 (Canine DHPPiL + Corona) Vaccination Certificate showing latest dose administered.
o Status of deworming, including date and product used.
o Copy of photo ID of the owner.
o One-time registration fee 500 per dog, Annual license renewal fee 1000 per dog.
A metal token /QR scanner /Dog Adhar with unique ID shall be issued on registration to be worn on the collar at all times.
o Blind or visually impaired persons keeping guide dogs are exempted from fees.
o The Registration Authority must be informed within 7 days in case of death transfer of loss of dog.
