The Government of Mizoram on February 12, 2026, issued notification regarding the Renaming of Commerce & Industries Department to Commerce, Industries, Geology and Mining Department.
As per Mizoram Gazette (Extraordinary) Issue Nos. 867 and 868 dated December 10, 2025, amendments have been made to the Government of Mizoram (Allocation of Business) Rules, 2019 and the Government of Mizoram (Transaction of Business) Rules, 2014.
Under the amended First Schedule of the Transaction of Business Rules, 2014, the name Commerce & Industries Department has been changed to Commerce, Industries, Geology and Mining Department.
Accordingly, all future official correspondence must address the department as “Commerce, Industries, Geology and Mining Department.”
