The Government of Himachal Pradesh, on February 06, 2026, notified the Nagar Panchayat Kotkhai, (Grant of Trade License for Trade Activities, Use of Premises and Storage of Articles in Premises) Byelaws 2025.
The following has been stated: -
•The Nagar Panchayat Kotkhai has notified the “Grant of Trade License for Trade Activities, Use of Premises and Storage of Articles in Premises) Byelaws, 2025, under the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 1994, after no objections were received to the draft publication.
•The byelaws make trade licenses mandatory for businesses operating within NP limits and define procedures for grant, renewal, transfer, modification, closure, fees, and zoning.
•They prescribe license fee structures based on business scale, trade category, and zone factors, along with provisions for temporary licenses and film shooting permissions.
•The byelaws also specify conditions, penalties, denial grounds, and cross-service penalization for default in municipal services, ensuring regulatory compliance within the jurisdiction.
These Bye Laws shall come into force from February 06, 2026.
