Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (MoFAH&D) on January 24, 2026, issued the Standard operating procedures for Artificial Inseminations Technicians/ MAITRIs.

The following has been stated: -

•AI Technicians must conduct tagged and verified artificial insemination (AI) at farmers’ doorsteps or veterinary centres, upload AI and pregnancy diagnosis (PD) data on the Bharat Pashudhan Portal and NDLM Portal, and complete confirmation through OTP or geo-tagged photographs.

•Incentives are released only after PD data upload, with mandatory follow-up for conception, calving, tagging of calves, and updating dry-off transactions.

•Strict protocols are prescribed for hygiene, equipment readiness, semen thawing at 37°C, safe liquid nitrogen handling, and proper AI technique.

•Technicians must also maintain accurate records, ensure proper semen storage and inventory, and provide advisory support to farmers on breeding and animal health management.

The procedure prescribed under the aforementioned SOP for data entry in the NDLM / Bharat Pashudhan shall be mandatorily adapted from April 01, 2026.
