The Government of Kerala, on February 10, 2026, issued a notification regarding an advisory to use Authorised Dealers for Used Vehicle Transactions.
The following has been stated: -
•The Kerala Motor Vehicles Department has advised the public to buy or sell used vehicles only through authorised dealers to avoid fraud and legal complications.
•Ownership must be properly transferred through Form 29B/29C via the Vahan portal, failing which the previous owner may remain legally liable for offences or accidents.
•The list of authorised dealers can be verified on the official MVD website before completing any transaction.
