Industry Specific ComplianceThe Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) on February 18, 2026, issued the Draft Eighth Amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Determination of Tariff for Wheeling and Retail Sale of Electricity) Regulation, 2005.

The following has been stated: -

•The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission has proposed the Eighth Amendment to Regulation No. 4 of 2005, effective April 01, 2026, removing the ₹0.40/unit cap on monthly FPPCA pass-through.

•The amendment enables automatic, full monthly recovery or refund of Fuel and Power Purchase Cost Adjustment (FPPCA) based on actual power purchase costs, improving cost reflectivity and tariff transparency.

•It aims to prevent tariff shocks, reduce industrial financial uncertainty, minimize tenant billing disputes, and strengthen the financial stability of Distribution Licensees.

•The Regulation also mandates strict timelines, detailed monthly reporting, website disclosure, and annual true-up/down mechanisms with provision for financing cost pass-through.

•The comments, suggestions, and objections may be submitted by March 04, 2026.
