Industry Specific Compliance The Government of Tamil Nadu, on February 16, 2026, issued a notification regarding the appointment of District Collectors as Registering Authority under the Tamil Nadu Money Lending Entities (Prevention of Coercive Actions) Act, 2025.

The following has been stated: -

•The Government of Tamil Nadu has appointed District Collectors as the Registering Authority for money lending entities under the Tamil Nadu Act 40 of 2025. Each Collector will exercise jurisdiction within their respective district.
