The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on February 10, 2026, issued a notification regarding extension of the period of concurrent running of IS 2061: 1995 and IS 2061: 2025- Bicycles — Front Forks.
The following has been stated: -
•The Bureau of Indian Standards (Central Marks Department-III) has extended the concurrent running period of IS 2061:1995 and IS 2061:2025 for “Bicycles — Front Forks.”
•The revised standard (IS 2061:2025), which replaced IS 2061:1995, was originally to be implemented by January 24, 2026.
•Based on requests from manufacturers, the last date for implementation has now been extended to January 24, 2027.
•All Branch Offices have been directed to inform licensees/applicants and ensure compliance by the revised deadline.
