The Government of Himachal Pradesh on February 11, 2026, issued the Himachal Pradesh Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2025, to further amend the Himachal Pradesh Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1969.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Section 7 which states “Hours of employment” the following has been substituted in proviso (a) of sub-section (2) namely: -
“the total number of overtime hours worked by an employee does not exceed one hundred forty four within a period of any one quarter”
• Section 13 which states “Registration of establishments” in sub-section (1) the following has been substituted namely: -
“Within the period specified in sub-section (3), the employer of every establishment employing ten or more employees shall send to the prescribed authority a statement in the prescribed form accompanied by such fees as may be prescribed and containing:”
