BIS Notifies New Indian Standards for woven shirts

Commercial ComplianceThe Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on March 12, 2026 notified the establishment of several new Indian Standards in accordance with Rule 15(1) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. The notification was issued by the Bureau under the Bureau of Indian Standards, functioning under the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Through this notification, BIS has established multiple Indian Standards relating to textiles, plain bearings, and engineering tools, including specifications for woven shirts, woven trousers, field service caps, polyester tyre cord fabrics for automotive tyres, and technical standards aligned with ISO specifications for plain bearings and assembly tools.

All the listed standards came into effect on March 6, 2026, and no existing standards have been withdrawn concurrently, as indicated in the schedule accompanying the notification.
