The Steel & Mines Department, Government of Odisha (SMD) on February 2, 2026, notified the Maximum Sale Price (MSP) for specified minor minerals under the powers conferred by Rule 47A(1) of the Odisha Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2016.
Under the notification, the State Government has fixed the MSP for various minor minerals including ordinary sand at ₹340 per cubic meter, ordinary boulders used in road or civil construction at ₹1080 per cubic meter, ordinary clay, silt, brick-earth, ordinary earth and morrum at ₹210 per cubic meter, and sandstone, laterite and slate (slabs or tiles) at ₹1160 per cubic meter.
The government further stated that the additional charges for minor minerals notified under this order will be reviewed periodically and may be revised if required. Any violation of the notification will attract penal action under the Odisha Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2016 and other applicable laws. The notification will take effect from the date of its publication in the Odisha Gazette.
