Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Heavy Industries (MoHI) on March 13, 2026, issued the amendment to PMP for e-buses (M2/M3) under the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme.

The following has been stated:

• The PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme, notified by the Ministry of Heavy Industries on September 29, 2024, includes a Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP) for e-buses, which was initially notified on 3 March 2025 and later amended on September 30, 2025. The latest amendment further revises Serial No. 8 of the PMP relating to the traction motor for e-buses (M2/M3 category). Under the revised provision, effective September 01, 2026, the traction motor shall be domestically manufactured, including key processes such as magnet fitment, rotor assembly fitment into the motor, stator assembly fitment, shaft and bearing fitment, enclosure installation, and the installation of connectors and cables. 

• This amendment aims to promote domestic manufacturing and localisation of critical e-bus components under the PM E-DRIVE scheme.
