The Government of Maharashtra on March 11, 2026, issued the Indian Partnership (Maharashtra Amendment) Bill, 2026 further to amend the Indian partnership act, 1932, in its application to the state of Maharashtra.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In section 58, for sub-section (1), the following sub-section shall be inserted: -
"(1) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (1A), the Registrar of the area in which any place of business of a plantation is situated or is proposed to be situated shall, on the official website, -
(a) Name of the pedhi, PAN number and e-mail address of the pedhi;
(b) The nature of the business of the farm;
(c) the place of business or principal place of business;
(d) the names of any other places where the business is carried on;
(e) Date of joining the firm by each partner:
(f) Full names and permanent addresses, email addresses and mobile phone numbers of all partners;
(g) Period of production,
This can be done by filing an online application in the prescribed format, paying the prescribed online fee and submitting a certified copy of the partnership deed.
The statement shall be digitally signed by all the partners or their agents specifically authorized in this regard.".
• In section 58, for sub-section (2), the following sub-section shall be inserted:-
(2) The partners who digitally sign the application shall upload the information on the official website, and shall also verify the application entered in the online form mentioned in sub-section (1). The necessary supporting documents from the applicant shall also be uploaded on the official website.".
• In sub-section (1) of section 59 of the principal Act, after the words "by registered representation", the words "by digital means" shall be inserted.
