The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) on March 13, 2026, issued UNSC Press Release and Sanction List.
The Exchange is in receipt of a communication from the SEBI which inter-alia states as under:
1. Please find the following notifications issued by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Committee :
a) Note SC/16313 dated March 10, 2026 regarding amendment of 22 entries in 1988 (2011)

2. The latest versions of the Sanctions list are accessible on the UN Security Council’s website at the following URL:
a. List issued by UNSC Committee established pursuant to resolution 1989 (2011) of individuals and entities linked to ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida:

Depository Participants (DPs) are advised to comply with the procedures outlined in the Central Government Order dated February 2, 2021 for implementing Section 51A of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, which deals with measures to prevent financing of terrorism.
DPs must scan all existing accounts to ensure that no account is held by or associated with individuals or entities appearing in the sanctions list. The same verification should also be conducted for all new accounts, in accordance with the Securities and Exchange Board of India guidelines on AML/CFT obligations dated June 6, 2024.
If any de-listing request is received, DPs must forward it electronically to the Joint Secretary (CTCR), Ministry of Home Affairs and send a copy to the Joint Secretary (UNP), Ministry of External Affairs for further action.
Additionally, individuals or entities seeking removal from the ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List may submit their de-listing request to the independent Ombudsperson appointed by the United Nations Secretary-General.
