The Government of Andhra Pradesh on February 18, 2026, issued the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2026 to further amend the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In clause (34) of section 2, after the words “the first day of January”, the following words shall be added, namely,- “the first day of April, the first day of July and the first day of October.”.
The Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025 is hereby repealed.
It shall be deemed to have come into force on and from December 23, 2025.
